This cultivar was selected by the late Harold Johnston of Alabama who introduced many amazing maples. Coming from the Deep South, this tree is very heat tolerant. Late day shade is preferred for the best display. This small tree has big time color as it blasts on the stage in early spring.

Found as an extremely heat tolerant Japanese maple by Paul Lowe in Alabama

During the mid-to-late spring the pink variegation turns to a creamy white

New growth in the summer is a solid green

As the summer progresses
