2015 Chambertin, Grand Cru, Domaine Armand Rousseau, BurgundyThis is at once ripe yet distinctly cool with its fresh and still mostly primary ultra spicy red currant, underbrush, sandalwood, lilac and earth aromas. The rich, intense and overtly muscular big bodied flavors possess evident minerality that is borderline pungent and it informs the explosively long, firm and very serious finish. This notably powerful, but not really austere effort, is coming along nicely and while it's still quite young, it's not so

in lifted cherry and raspberry style

together with sherbet and grilled almond

A beautiful savoury nose that's rich and enticing

complemented by dried flowers

this has wonderful concentration

redcurrant jelly

Despite an initial fruit-forwardness

ripe and sensual

Juicy and savory

loamy soil

sweetness and glycerol

and 2012 is no exception
