There is some residual blue staining from the pallet which can easily be removed

These pieces have become extremely collectable and so have been reproduced since the middle part of the 19th century and this piece is a typical example of these later copies

The size of the chair means it was made for a small child and although there is a possibility it is a dolls or teddy bears chair

and could now be utilised in a multitude of ingenious ways

We believe the origin could be the Netherlands or North Germany or possibly Spain

The Welsh hat seems to have been worn (with a full Welsh costume) only by the wives and daughters of successful farmers when attending chapel or church
