Very Old 1724 France Token Louis XV - Comitia Artesiae N.D (1724), Great Condition - French Counter Token / Jeton 1724, Louis XVAntique French Counter Token. Quite old! Made in 1724, but not stamped with the date. The obverse (front) shows Louis XV, and the reverse: Arms of Artois supported by a lion and a dogfish. Reverse Lettering: COMITIA ARTESIAE Engraver: Jean Duvivier (a French medallist, who was appointed official medallist to King Louis XV) This token was made when Louis the VX (nicknamed Louis the Beloved) was only 14 years old. The legislation provided that "no more than one and a half million pieces" be created on behalf of the American Legion Texas Centennial Committee
