Rockport Cove, DuskThis was from a photograph of a very peaceful cove a friend and I were walking around at sunset. Living so far from the ocean, I was utterly entranced watching the colors of the sky, water and shoreline change by the minute. I am trying to show how each element got lit up in its own way over the course of watching the sun set.

These 11 x 17 " placemats are sturdy

surrounded by an encroaching tropical forest

I blended an abstract ink drawing with architectural photographs

and feel that it captures the joyous abundance of flowers and friendship that evening

and the whole thing was painted very loosely and gesturally

This is a set of 4 placemats of this pattern

and got really interested in the shadows it cast on the paper behind it

orange and yellow adds a splash of color to your spring and summer wardrobe
